Earnest Expectations: Creating

God as Creator is one of my favorite aspects of His character. That is probably because of my strong artistic side that loves to create! Decorating and painting are two of my passions. My temperament is strongly melancholy and because of this I can get bogged down in the details of life, constantly see work that needs to be done, and dwell on the things that are wrong instead of everything that is so beautifully right! Surrounding myself with beautiful things helps me to set my mind on what is true and eternal. When I take time to look around I see evidence everywhere that my God is a God who loves beauty. I am so thankful for the beautiful gifts in nature that He has given me to enjoy...budding flowers, beautiful sunsets, blankets of snow all point to the beauty of God. Not only does God reveal his beauty and creativity in nature, but think about all the foods and flavors He created for us to enjoy. This just says so much to me about my God. He cares for us. He is personal. Yes, life is hard and imperfect. He has given us glimpses of Himself to enjoy in this life to remind us of Him and to long for our home that we do not yet see. When I read about the temple and all the detail God required in building it, I fall even more in love with my Maker, because I know that this part of me that loves beauty and loves to create is part of Him; part of Christ in me that I get to reflect in this temporary life. God made this artistic part of me and He loves it! What has God put deep within your heart that He wants to use to reflect His glory?
